LAURA E. DEMOTT

SARATOGA SPRINGS Miss Laura E. DeMott, formerly of Lake Ave., passed away Sunday, March 19, 2018. She was 99. Born on June 28, 1918 in Saratoga Springs, the daughter of the late Archie Byron and Alice (White) DeMott, she graduated from Saratoga Springs High School and was a lifelong resident. Beginning employment in 1938, she worked for the Adirondack Trust Company for 43 years prior to her retirement in 1981. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Harriet Rouse; brother and sister-in-law Stafford and Elizabeth Rouse; a sister and brother-in-law Ella and Arthur Remington; one nephew Terry Rouse and a cousin Dorothy Stevens. Survivors include her cousin, Barbara Smaldone of Saratoga Springs; a niece Sharon Rouse; a greatniece Kristine Gordon; one great-nephew Brent Rouse and longtime friends Marjorie and John Hamill, Peggy Burns Freeburn, Kathy Burns and Anthony Rossman and their extended families. Relatives and Friends may call from 9:30 to 10 am Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the narthex of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am in the church. Burial will follow in Greenridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway (584-5373).
