goalie clinic: April 22. Limited to 40 players including a 10 person VIP event. Two hours group instruction includes fundamentals footwork, positioning, stance and angles, communication, outlets, hand speed, conditioning and leadership. 10 a.m. to nooon at the Wilton YMCA turf facility. The VIP event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. open to athletes in fifth- through 12th grade. Cost is $100. VIP cost is $125. Register at www.rougelacrosee.com Face-Off Academy April 22: 3 to 5 p.m. April 22 at the Wilton YMCA, open to players fourth- through 12th-grade., groups will be split by grades. Cost is $100. A VIP session is also available one hour prior the the training session, $200 per athlete. Coaches vs. Cancer at The Joe: The Tri-City Valley Cats will host six high school baseball games at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium as part of Friday Night Lights, with each serving as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

This is the sixth annual event featuring a doubleheader on three consecutive Friday nights. Each participating school has been tasked to sell tickets to their game as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The school that raises the most money will be recognized with a trophy presentation on May 4. Additional fundraising efforts will take place during each game. The Friday Night Lights schedule is as follows: Friday, April 20: 4 p.m. La Salle Cadets vs. Watervliet Cannoneers, 7 p.m. - Cohoes Tigers vs. Voorheesville Blackbirds; Friday, April 27: 4 p.m. - Columbia Blue Devils vs. Christian Brothers Academy, 7 p.m. Shenendehowa Plainsmen vs. Mohonasen Warriors; Friday, May 4: 4 p.m. Green Tech Eagles vs. Cairo-Durham Mustangs, 7 p.m. Niskayuna Silver Warriors vs. Bethlehem Eagles Tickets are $5 each and are available for purchase through each school to benefit their fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society.
