SCOTIA - An angel here on Earth has been called to unfold her wings and fly to the heavens where a grand celebration awaits her arrival. Dorothy Alice Litts age 92, of Charlton, New York passed away on Friday April 20, 2018 at 12:30 in the afternoon with the sun shining in on her in her loving home. She was born January 23, 1926 in Bronx, New York. She was the daughter of William Henry Morris and Jennie Hannah ( Van Vorst) Morris. Dorothy’s 23 year career in the Registrar’s Office at Union College in Schenectady, New York reflects her caregiver qualities. Every student that interacted with Mom took a piece of her Love of Humanity with them. Dorothy always had a longing to fulfill her creative hungers. She finally discovered her passion was hand applique work. She took many a bus trip with her Quilting Families. Being a member of “Thursday Tearers” and the “Quilt North” quilt guild were a highlight in her later years. Dorothy carried in her Soul room for every living creature and being on Earth. Her warm and generous heart was open and offered to all she met. A most gentle soul and a Mother to all she met. Every breath of Dorothy’s Being was there for her family. Like a “Mama Bear” she gave all to make sure her family was Healthy, Happy and Safe. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Warren Chester Litts. The loving mother of Dr. Warren C. (Cynthia A. Dixon) Litts of Saratoga Springs and Kathleen Rose Litts of Charlton. She was the baby sister of Dr. William Morris, Jr., Walter F. Morris and Franklin S. Morris. A loving, “always there for you,” Grandmother to Jonathan, Jeremy and Rebecca (Franco) Litts. “Great Grammy Alice” to Isabelle, Matthew and Elias. “Hey Mom, we made it to the Spring side of Winter” Graveside services will be private in Sweetman Cemetary, Charlton, New York. Those who wish may make a donation in memory of OUR MOTHER to: Community Hospice of Saratoga County, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 and/or Eddy Alzheimer’s Services 421 Columbia St. Cohoes, NY 12047.
