BACON HILL BONANZA: The 6th annual Bacon Hill Bonanza 5K/ 10K is the race known for home-made pies,scenic views and friendly people. The race begins and ends at the Bacon Hill Church, 560 Route 32N., Schuylervi­lle. Kids’ 1-mile fun Run for ages 14and under starts at 9:30 a.m. The 5K Run/ Walk and 10K Run begin at 10a.m. Entry fee $30by April 20, $35 ont he day of the event. $5 discount to additional family members. CLEAN-UP: Battenkill Conservanc­y’s Earth Day Highway Clean Up happens on Saturday, April 21, beginning at 9 a.m. Volunteers will meet at the State Line Rest Area off State Route 313, roughly 5 miles north of the Village of Cambridge, for coffee and donuts provided by a local Dunkin Donuts franchise before being getting safety vests and large bags to pick up trash along the highway. Trout Unlimited Chapter members will share clean up duties along the main roads. The April 21clean up is the first of four cleanup events where the BkC and TU join forces to maintain the highway free of trash along this prime stretch of the Battenkill. GIVING CIRCLE AFGHANISTA­N FUNDRAISER:

The Giving Circle, an all-volunteer Saratoga Springs-based nonprofit, will host a fund-raiser at 1p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Caffe Lena, 47Phila Street, to help children in Afghanista­n. Nangyalai Attal, founder of Hode Educationa­l and Social Services Organizati­on, will be the featured speaker. His talk will be followed by a screening of the powerful documentar­y “Girl Rising” and a Skype talk with Mursal Ayobi, a survivor of the 2016 Taliban attack on American University of Afghanista­n. The event will benefit The Giving Circle Afghanista­n, a new project with a goal of building three classrooms for the Wardak High School outside of Kabul. Admission is $25. On Saturday, April 21, the Saratoga Regional YMCA is holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active at the annual YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day ®, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families.
