GALWAY LIONESS CLUB:

The Galway Lioness Club Of Lions District 20-Y2 will hold their monthly dinner meeting on Wednesday, June 6, at the Galway Lions Club Building on East Street. Dinner will be held promptly at 7 p.m. The guest speakers of the evening are Past District Governor Marianne Lynch and Past District Governor Stephen Lynch of Lions District 20-Y2, who will do the Installati­on of Officers for the 2018-2019 Lioness Club Year. There will be a collection of non-perishable food items to benefit the Food Pantry of the Greater Galway Community Services Associatio­n. The June Lioness Club Board Meeting will be held immediatel­y following the Dinner Meeting. Committee reports will be shared and the upcoming events will be discussed. All Lioness Members are welcome to attend and share their ideas.

KARNER BLUE BUTTERFLY WALK:

The endangered Karner blue butterfly has two broods every summer. The first brood should emerge late in May and the second in early July. Take a look on the Old Gick Farm Trail for adults that are searching for nectar and mates in the open meadows. The 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. walks will be cancelled if it is raining. Each walk lasts for about an hour. Please park in the lot by the Saratoga Sandplains Sign on Route 50 half a mile north of King Road. Registrati­on is strongly encouraged. Karner Blue Butterfly Walks will be held Wednesdays through June 27.

MECHANICVI­LLE DISTRICT PUBLIC LIBRARY:

Come explore Moreau after the sun sets. This 8 p.m. program is intended for families of all ages. Take a short hike around Moreau in the dark, looking and listening for nocturnal animals. PICTURE OF LOVE:

As part of Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home’s ongoing series of educationa­l and community events, spend an evening with Victoria O Milne, MS, as she leads participan­ts in the art of creating a special picture collage that celebrates the life of a loved one, after loss. “A Picture of Love” will be held at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, on Wednesday, June 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No previous experience in art or scrapbooki­ng is necessary.
