FARMERS’ MARKET: The Mechanicville District Public Library partners with local farmers, makers and organizations to provide an alternative place for neighboring residents to shop for healthy foods and handmade goods and support the local economy. Shoppers can look forward to familiar faces from 2017 as well as new participants such as the Boneyard Barkery, Willow Run Suds & Scents, Earthen Gold Farms, Onda Farm and more. All Lioness Members are welcome to attend and share their ideas. KARNER BLUE BUTTERFLY WALK: The endangered Karner blue butterfly has two broods every summer. The first brood should emerge late in May and the second in early July. Take a look on the Old Gick Farm Trail for adults that are searching for nectar and mates in the open meadows. The 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. walks will be cancelled if it is raining. Each walk lasts for about an hour. Please park in the lot by the Saratoga Sandplains Sign on Route 50 half a mile north of King Road. Registration is strongly encouraged. Karner Blue Butterfly Walks will be held Wednesdays through June 27.
