ADIRONDACK CUP BATTLES TODAY
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » The West Side fields will be home of the third annual “Adirondack Cup”, featuring the whole Saratoga Springs Little League matching up with their Glens Falls counterparts up the Northway for an entire Saturday of baseball beginning this morning.
Glens Falls Little League has once again agreed to participate in the week-long league-wide event where teams in the majors, minors and bantam age-group divisions play each other for bragging rights up and down I-87.
Teams will be seeded based on how they finished in their league, with the championship games scheduled to conclude Saturday evening.
“This is a terrific Saratoga region and North country event for all kids celebrating Little League baseball and the conclusion of yet another season,” Saratoga Springs Little League president Derrick LeGall said. “We are thrilled they will again join us and we are pleased that we continue keep the Super Saturday spirit alive with our Little League friends to the North.
“It is a great way for every kid to be able to participate in playoff atmosphere baseball, regardless if they are continuing on to all-stars, which begin in a few weeks. It truly is a celebration of
Little League baseball this region.”
Trophies will be presented to the championship teams in minors and majors and the leagues are printing commemorative T-shirts for over 400 kids participating in the event. in
