Events slated for state park

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » The following events are planned for Saratoga Spa State Park this month.

• Thursday, June 21 (11 a.m.) Preschool Naturalist­s is a nature class designed for children ages 3 to 5. This hour-long program will focus on using all five senses to explore a certain aspect of the outdoor world. Children will also have a nature related story and craft. Fee is $3 per person or $5 per family.

• Friday, June 22 (11 a.m.) Stream Safari. Spend the morning in Geyser Creek getting to know the aquatic creatures that call it home. Wear water shoes and clothes that can get wet. Fee is $3 per person or $5 per family.

• Monday, June 25 (6 p.m.) Stream Safari. Spend an afternoon in Geyser Creek getting to know the aquatic creatures that call it home. Wear water shoes and clothes that can get wet. Fee is $3 per person or $5 per family.

• Tuesday, June 26 (11 a.m.) All About Beavers. Join an environmen­tal educator to learn more about beavers and the important role that they play in the environmen­t. This program will take place in the Creekside Classroom, followed by a short nature hike to look for signs of beavers in the park. This program is designed for children ages 6 – 8. This is a free event.

• Wednesday, June 27 (10 a.m.) Leave No Trace Hike. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints. Take a conserva-

tion-themed walk to learn about the different ways to minimize impacts on the land. Welcome to people of all ages and all experience levels. This event is free and meets at the Creekside Classroom.

• Thursday, June 28 (10 a.m.-12 p.m.) Nature Scavenger Hunt. Visit the Creekside Classroom to pick up a nature scavenger hunt list, a news release said. Those that return with their list will earn a prize. No registrati­on necessary. This class is free with vehicle entry fee.

• Friday, June 29 (9 a.m.) Bird Bingo. A fun introducti­on to birding. Just look and listen. Bring binoculars or borrow a pair from the classroom. Welcome to people of all ages and all experience levels. This event is free and meets at the Creekside Classroom. Program will be cancelled if there is rain.
