Wednesday, June 20 HALFMOON FARMERS

MARKET: The Halfmoon Farmers Market is set to open on Wednesday, June 20 at 3 p.m. To celebrate Opening Day a ribbon cutting will be held at 3 p.m.; refreshmen­ts will be served. The Farmers Market is located on Harris Road in the Abele Park at the Town of Halfmoon Municipal Center. The market will be open 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. every Wednesday rain or shine through September 19.

KARNER BLUE BUTTERFLY WALK: The endangered Karner blue butterfly has two broods every summer. The first brood should emerge late in May and the second in early July. Take a look on the Old Gick Farm Trail for adults that are searching for nectar and mates in the open meadows. The 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. walks will be cancelled if it is raining. Each walk lasts for about an hour. Please park in the lot by the Saratoga Sandplains Sign on Route 50 half a mile north of King Road. Registrati­on is strongly encouraged. Karner Blue Butterfly Walks will be held Wednesdays through June 27.

LWV MEET-UP: The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County will hold a Meet-Up on June 20 at 7 p.m. at the Adirondack Trust Bank Community Room, Saratoga Springs. The topic will be Foreign Trade Agreements & Tariffs. LWV Saratoga member Mary Estelle Ryckman, a former U.S. trade negotiator,will offer background on how US trade policy is made and lead a lively discussion on the recent trade actions taken by the new Administra­tion and reactions from our trading partners.
