Capital Bank opens new office in Wilton

WILTON, N.Y.» Capital Bank, a division of Chemung Canal Trust Company, now has a presence in Wilton with the opening of a a new full-service office on Route 50.

The new branch is located in a standalone building of the Wilton Plaza, which houses near Chipotle and Five Guys.

Following its opening on April 30, Capital Bank recently celebrated this location’s grand opening at a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.

The new branch is Capital Bank’s second office in Saratoga County. “We are thrilled to now have a presence in Wilton and Saratoga Springs and to introduce Capital Bank’s competitiv­e products and services to the residents and business owners of these vibrant communitie­s,” said Anders M. Tomson, president and chief executive officer of Chemung Canal Trust Company, in a press release. “This is an exciting market where we also have many clients who will also benefit from a more accessible branch location.”

This is the fourth Capital Bank branch to feature a more modern banking office, utilizing a tellerpod concept, which is meant to enhance interactio­n and allow relationsh­ip bankers and customers the flexibilit­y and space to work together seamlessly throughout the lobby. Additional­ly, this is the first office in the Capital Bank branch network to deploy a virtual teller system, allowing customers the ultimate experience in self-service banking. The virtual teller system combines the convenienc­e and accuracy of an ATM with the personal interactio­n a teller through video.

“We are excited about the opportunit­ies that lie ahead for us here in our new location,” said Daniel D. Fariello, president of the Capital Bank division, in the release. “The building will allow us to provide a regional financial center, offering residentia­l, small business and commercial lending, as well as wealth management and brokerage services.”

The 3,100-square-foot facility was remodeled by BBL Constructi­on Services and is being leased to Capital Bank by the Nigro Companies. The office represents the seventh capital project undertaken by Capital Bank since it was acquired by Chemung Canal Trust Company in April 2011. In 2012, the bank opened a new branch on Wolf Road, and renovated its branch in Slingerlan­ds. In 2013, the bank built a new branch in Latham, followed in 2015 by a new regional headquarte­rs in downtown Albany’s historic Wellington Row. In 2016, the bank relocated to a new branch in Clifton Park, and earlier this year, opened a new fullservic­e office at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectad­y.
