PORTER CORNERS – Thomas E. Millis Sr., 74, of North Greenfield Road, passed away unexpected­ly Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home. Born on Dec. 31, 1943 in Corinth, he was the son of the late Charles and Nellie (Centerbar) Millis. Tom attended Corinth High School. He married Rita M. VanDusen on Sept. 14, 1963 in Saratoga Springs. The couple resided in Porter Corners for many years. She passed away Feb. 12, 2018 following 54 years of marriage. Tom was employed at the Tarrant Manufactur­ing in Saratoga Springs for 25 years. He was a member of Victory Bible Baptist Church of Porter Corners for several years. Tom enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, and working with his kids, teaching them many of the skills they use today. Besides his wife and his parents, he was also predecease­d by one son, Thomas Earl Millis Jr., and his siblings, John Millis, Walter Millis, Arthur Millis, Alva Lyford, and two infant siblings, Carl and Mary. Survivors include five children, David Earl Millis of Porter Corners, Nellie Allman of Gansevoort, Laura Senecal (Robert Jr.) of Ballston Spa, Peggy Sue Welty (Curtis) of PA, and Amy M. Mosher (Brian) of Gloversvil­le; nine grandchild­ren and many great-grandchild­ren; three siblings, Fred Millis Sr. (Barbara) of Corinth, Donald Millis of Hadley, and James Millis (Mae) of South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebratio­n of life will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Victory Bible Baptist Church, 4532 Rt. 9N, Porter Corners, with Rev. Dexter Taylor, officiatin­g. The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to the Victory Bible Baptist Church, 4532 Rt. 9N, Porter Corners, NY 12859. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth.
