MIDDLE GROVE - David A. Winkle, age 57, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on Monday, June 25, 2018. Dave was born to Shirley (Vodapivc) Winkle and Robert L. Winkle in Schenectad­y, NY on November 6, 1960. After graduating from Guilderlan­d High School in 1978, he attended Wentworth Institute in Boston, graduating with a degree in Constructi­on Technology. He was the President and owner of Winkle Constructi­on Co., Inc. for 37 years. Dave was an avid hunter, and outdoorsma­n. He loved adventure sports, working on vintage cars, coaching baseball, leading cub scouts, skiing, surfing, and most of all, spending time with his kids. Dave prided himself on living off of the land, boiling his own maple syrup, and raising his own livestock. Being outside was his favorite place to be. His passion for life was infectious, and his amazing smile was unforgetta­ble. Dave leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Susan (Brennan) Winkle and his sons Shane and Jared all of Middle Grove, NY. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Robert and Shirley Winkle; his brother, Steve Winkle (Debbie) of Malta; Aunt, Sister Agnes Leo Winkle of Latham; Uncle, George Vodapivc (Beth) of Kennesaw, GA; father-in-law, John Brennan (Rose) of Saratoga Springs; brother- in- law, John Brennan (Yvonne) of Saratoga Springs; sister-in-law Ellen Brennan-Pierce (Jeff) of Fort Collins, CO; four nieces, two nephews, one great nephew and great niece. He also leaves behind so many good friends (thought of as family), including, but in no way limited to, Craig Uline, Sam Uline, Dave and Amy Strauss, Greg and Suzzette Fromkin, the Quartararo family, the Devizzio family and the Fodera family. The family wishes to extend their sincere and utmost thanks to Dr. Edward Liebers and the amazing nursing staff. They would also like to thank the medical staff at both Albany Medical Center and Saratoga Hospital. Their kindness and unwavering support saw us through this most difficult time. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, June 29, 2018, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 pm, at the William J.
