Spa City to host major semiconductor conference
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » More than 250 semiconductor industry leaders are expected to attend a major conference in Saratoga Springs this fall.
The Oct. 9 event, called Silicon Summit-East, will bring together executives and technologists to discuss extending semiconductor technology, emerging market trends, and opportunities for collaboration and business growth.
The gathering will be co-hosted by the Global Semiconductor Alliance, a leading industry voice, in partnership with Saratoga Country Prosperity Partnership, the county’s designated economic development agency, and the Albany-based Center For Economic Growth.
The event results from a strategic alliance the Partnership established last year with GSA, which represents more than 400 member companies in 32 countries that combine for over 75 percent of revenue in the $400 billion semiconductor industry.
The conference theme is “Harnessing Emerging Semiconductor Market Opportunities.” The event, which includes presentations and panel discussions, is designed to promote partnerships that are critical to advancing both semiconductor technology and business.
“The Silicon Summit-East will provide a venue to create connections, expand networks and build relationships that support a sustainable approach to economic development and generate long-term prosperity,” said Marty Vanags, Partnership president.
Center for Economic Growth President and CEO Andrew Kennedy said the conference will “showcase what the Capital Region can provide to worldwide industry leaders and highlight why New York makes sense for their next investment.”
