BABYSITTING COURSE: This 6.5 hr course at the Schuylerville Public Library will fully prepare your tween/teen for babysitting. BALLSTON SPA FARMERS’ MARKET: The Ballston Spa Farmers’ Market, sponsored by the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association (BSBPA), resumes Saturday, June 16 and and runs Thursdays from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon through September 29 in Wiswall Park, at the corner of Front Street and Low Street. The market features 100% locally grown produce, farm fresh agricultural products, flowers, herbs, baked goods, custom blended spices, dressings, marinades, handcrafted jewelry, and more. BUTTERFLY WALK: Summer is a time of fun in the sun, but it’s also a prime time to spot beautiful butterflies in flight. Take an educational walk through the Karner management area to learn more about the federally endangered Karner blue butterfly and state-threatened frosted elfin, their ecology and relationship to wild lupine, as well as how the butterflies and their habitat are monitored and managed. Meet at 11 a.m. at the entrance of the Saratoga Spa Dog Park, located at the corner of S Broadway and Crescent Street in Saratoga Springs. COMMUNITY ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIG: On Saturday June 30, there will be a community archaeological dig at the site of the Town of Ballston’s Anchor Diamond Park, at the corner of Route 50 and Middleline Road. A Get listed: Submit items for the calendar at CALENDAR@SARATOGIAN.COM. professional archeologist, Adam Luscier, will lead the dig in conjunction with the Town of Ballston Historian’s Office, led by Rick Reynolds. There will be two dig crews, one working from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. and another one from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30p.m. Training in archeological excavation will be given; no experience is necessary and kids are welcome. Slots for digging are limited. DANCERS AFTER DARK RECEPTION: The National Museum of Dance’ newest exhibition, “Dancers After Dark: Photographs by Jordan Matter,” features more than thirty captivating photographs of nude dancers in locations around the world from Matter’s 2016 book of the same title. In addition to photographs, the exhibition also includes exclusive video from the making of “Dancers After Dark.” The opening reception for Dancers After Dark will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. EAT DRINK SARATOGA: Eat Drink Saratoga at the Old Saratogian Lot, 20 Lake Avenue. seeks to showcase all the great restaurants that Saratoga Springs has to offer. FISH CREEK WATER CHESTNUT PULL: Saratoga PLAN is recruiting volunteers to help remove Water Chestnut plants from Fish Creek. Water Chestnut is an aquatic invasive plant that forms dense floating mats that can negatively impact the environment, economy and recreational use of the area. This event is weather dependent. Participants should bring their kayaks, canoes, SUPs, rowboats, waders, life jackets, protective gloves and 5-gallon buckets.
