Toga Heritage celebrates grand opening
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Local brand Toga Heritage has a new home on Broadway in downtown Saratoga Springs.
Friends, family and supporters joined owner and designer Deborah DePasquale in celebrating the grand opening of Toga Heritage’s new retail store on Tuesday at a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.
The new shop is located on the lower level of 398 Broadway, accessible through the Silverwood Home & Gallery store.
Prior to opening this space, which was built out specifically for Toga Heritage, DePasquale originally started the Toga Heritage brand last year with a curated collection available at Paper Dolls of Saratoga.
From there, the company hosted a pop up at Paper Dolls last summer followed by another at Silverwood in the winter.
Now, Toga Heritage has its own little shop inside Silverwood. “Silverwood offered me the opportunity to build out by own shop within their shop,” DePasquale explained. “We’re very blessed to be here in the lower level, right on Broadway. To have your first shop in the heart of downtown Saratoga, we just couldn’t be more thrilled.”
“We look forward to a great summer and a great stay here,” DePasquale said to attendees during the ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, the shop’s first official day open.
Though the Toga Heritage brand was officially launched in 2017, “It’s actually been on paper for years,” DePasquale said.
“The product line stems from my growing up here in Saratoga,” she continued. “The curated collection that we have really revolved around experiences in life, and in Saratoga. For me, my first swing of a golf club was in Saratoga, sips at the Big Red Spring, going to the track with my family, going to my first concert at SPAC (Rick Springfield).”
DePasquale aims for Toga Heritage to build upon that by associating the brand’s products with all of those experiences, she said.
Toga Heritage’s current and growing line features 135 products including apparel, decor, and items for entertaining.
The brand’s latest debut is a new tartan designed using the company’s brand guidelines and colors reminiscent of the city, intended to celebrate and honor the spirit and heritage of Saratoga Springs.
With a motto of “Love Where You Live,” the Toga Heritage brand is for both locals and visitors to the Spa City.
“Whether you’re a local or local at heart, our product line is for everyone,” DePasquale said.
“The company in and of itself is just really about home and family and friends, loving where you live and just enjoying your life and surrounding yourself with things that you love,” she added.
Looking ahead, “My goal for the future here is just to continue what I’ve been doing and build upon our product categories,” DePasquale said. “I’m hoping to build some new customers and keep the current customers.”
Beyond that, DePasquale hopes that one day Toga Heritage could have its own window front space on Broadway. More information about Toga Heritage is available online at togaheritage. com.
