Thomas E. Noonan, 66, of Pinehurst Drive, died on Friday, July 13, 2018 after a brief illness. Tom was the son of the late Richard and Arlene (Golden) Noonan. He was raised and lived in Ballston Spa for most of his childhood and attended St. Mary’s School. Tom was a graduate of Vincentian Institute, class of 1970 and later earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science from SUNY Plattsburgh. His career spanned over 35 years as a sales representative; he retired from Hill & Markes, where he spent most of his working years. Tom took great joy and personal pride in knowing his customers well and developed personal relationships with many that lasted through the years. He was the kind of man who took the time to get to know each person he encountered. He relished conversations and always remembered the details. He was an avid reader and history buff who loved learning, especially about the Civil War and WWII. Tom enjoyed travel with his family and always preferred taking the “backroads of life.” For him, it was about the trip and not just the destination. Tom and his wife of 41 years, Nancy, wintered in Tallahassee, Florida for several years. He was thrilled to spend so much time there with his son (especially on the golf course), daughter-in-law, and two grandsons who reside there. He was an enthusiastic gardener. Tom appreciated a good summer thunderstorm, and relished hot afternoons when he could head out for a jog around the neighborhood. Above all, he loved and nurtured his family and never hesitated to put them first. He was a hands-on father who was enthusiastic about his children’s activities, including self-teaching soccer so he could coach their youth teams, and spent most weekends driving them to tournaments around the country.

Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy (Malinowski) Noonan; his children, Aileen (Edward) Valenta, and Gregory (Megan) Noonan; his grandchildren, Owen Valenta and Ethan and Everett Noonan; and his siblings, James (Anne) Noonan, Michael (Karen) Noonan, Mary Ann (David) Prendergast and Frank (Nancy) Noonan. Tom is also survived by several extended family and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Thomas Chevalier on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at The Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or a charity of one’s choosing. With confidence, the family has placed their trust in the loving care of the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Tom’s Book of Memories at www.TownleyWheelerFH.com
