BALLSTON SPA CEMETERY TOUR: David Fiske will lead a walking tour at the Ballston Spa Village Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21. During the one-hour tour, participants will view the grave sites of important Ballston Spa industrialists while Fiske tells their stories. The event is sponsored by the Ballston Area History Roundtable, a new organization whose mission is to deepen the understanding of local history through research and sharing information among people of all ages. Because parking at the cemetery is extremely limited, people should park in the lot for the county complex on West High Street in Ballston Spa. CAMBRIDGE VALLEY FINE ART TOUR: Take time the weekend of July 21 and 22 to visit seven artists in six locations during the sixth Cambridge Valley Fine Art Tour. All of the participants live in the village of Cambridge and have been producing art for many years. NEW YORK CITY BALLET GALA: SPAC’s New York City Ballet Gala will honor the centennial celebration of the birth of both Jerome Robbins and Leonard Bernstein. TANG FAMILY SATURDAYS: The Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College’s Family Saturday programs include a brief tour of one of the exhibitions followed by a handson art-making activity, with all materials provided. The theme for July 21 is “Suncatcher Mobiles.” After a brief tour and discussion of “Dona Nelson: Stand Alone Paintings,” create beautiful suncatcher mobiles with wax paper, crayons, strings, hole punchers, and a special finishing touch to hold them together. BLOOD DRIVE: The Red Cross raised the need for blood from a critical level to an emergency need on Monday, July 9. Saratoga Casino Hotel teams up with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive on Monday, July 23. Members of the local community are urged to join dozens of Saratoga Casino Hotel team members to give blood from noon to 6 p.m. inside the hotel ballroom. CAMP SARATOGA 5K FUN RUN: The Saratoga Stryders host a series of five fun runs on wooded trails at the beautiful 310 acre parcel. The race series is open to all ages and abilities, run one race or all five. A raffle is held at the end of each race with many prizes awarded. Registration is $5 per race at the door starting at 5:30 p.m. Races begin at 6:15 p.m. sharp - rain or shine. There are no water stops on the course, but water is available at the finish. OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT: “Harnessing Nature, Building the Great Sacandaga” produced by Jason Kemper, Lauren Roberts & Peter Pepe in association with the Great Sacandaga Lake Advisory Council,is the story of how the people of the Sacandaga Valley had to sacrifice their homes, their farms and their livelihoods for the greater good. A Traveling BBQ hosted by Saratoga County Office for the Aging and Northeast Dining & Lodging will be served at Corinth Senior Center, 22 Hamilton Avenue, on July 27.
