BALLSTON SPA FARMERS’ MARKET:
The Ballston Spa Farmers’ Market, sponsored by the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association (BSBPA), runs Thursdays from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon through September 29 in Wiswall Park, at the corner of Front Street and Low Street. GREENWICH LIBRARY WALKING FIELD TRIP:
Under the national “Libraries Rock” initiative, the Greenwich Free Library has designed various entertaining programs for families and readers of all ages during the summer months. Join presenter Ben Kemp, site coordinator with the Friends of Grant Cottage, as he shares his research on whether President Ulysses S. Grant really visited Lake Luzerne in the 1870s. Kemp will also explore what brought Grant to this area in his final days in 1885 and the cottage he lived in that is now a local historic site. 7 p.m., Hadley Senior Center, 23 Maple Avenue, Hadley. Preschool Naturalists is a nature class designed for children ages 3 to 5. This hour-long program starting at 11 a.m. will focus on using the senses to explore a certain aspect of the outdoor world. SARATOGA SPRINGS HISTORY MUSEUM:
The Delaware and Hudson Railroad was one of the main lines servicing Saratoga Springs. The D&H however, had a connection to other parts of the north east, connecting Saratoga to the coal yards of Pennsylvania. Dr. S. Robert Powell will discuss those lines and the history behind the D&H’s Gravity Railroad in “The D&H Gravity Railroad: Five Configurations,” presented as part of the Alfred Z.
