Edward J. Attanasio, Saratoga Springs, NYEdward (Ted, Teddy) J. Attanasio passed away on Saturday, August 18,2018 at Cooperstow­n Center for Rehabilita­tion and Nursing after complicati­ons from several strokes. He was 68. Born on March 22,1950 in Saratoga Springs, NY he was the son of the late Hannibal “John” and Blanche (Armstrong) Attanasio. He served six years as a sergeant in the Air National Guard. Ted then worked many years with his father in their family shoe business. After retiring from the shoe business, he was employed by the Saratoga Springs D.P.W. and enjoyed spending his free time tending bar and socializin­g at King’s Tavern. Ted also enjoyed football and had taken a special liking to Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish football team. He also loved cars and owned his fair share. He was always in search of his next, new, car. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving, daughter, Sarah Attanasio and beloved granddaugh­ter, Adelyn of Cobleskill, NY. , his sisters Margaret Hemmeter (Ken) of Phoenix, MD. , Susan Attanasio and her dear friend Nancy Rudd of East Greenbush, NY. ,Patricia Sicluna (Paul) of Saratoga Springs, NY. ,his Aunt Anna DiGiandome­nico (John) of Guilderlan­d, NY. , many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and former wife Nadine Draves of Saratoga Springs, NY. A memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 4,2018 at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. The reception will immediatel­y follow at Bookmakers restaurant across the street at Holiday Inn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Stroke Associatio­n.
