ADIRONDACON: First Stall Productions, LLC, and Adirondack Tabletop Gamers and Game Developers are moving the Adirondacon convention to the Aviation Mall, taking over the Party Palace from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 16. People of all ages are invited to come and play board games, card games, role-playing games, etc. and help raise money for Extra Life, a charity benefiting the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. ALBANY INSTITUTE: The Albany Institute of History & Art’s Chief Curator Doug McCombs will give a special lecture on Sunday, September 16 at 2 p.m. focusing on the museum’s remarkable collection of Thomas Cole paper materials and the current exhibition, “Thomas Cole’s Paper Trail,” open through November 25. NATIVE AMERICAN FESTIVAL: Featured storytellers and musicians perform between dance programs at the National Museum of Dance during the Saratoga Native American Festival. SARATOGA PALIO: The Saratoga Palio, a regional race favorite among runners and walkers alike, will be held on Sunday, September 16. Established to honor the inspiring life of Melanie Merola O’Donnell, this event features a breathtaking course through the heart of Saratoga Springs. Funds raised benefit The Melanie Foundation, whose mission is to foster support for the mental health field. This year, The Melanie Foundation will make a donation to support the Latino Community Advocacy Program, a service of the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council that provides interpreting, advocacy and educational programming to Latino immigrants in Saratoga County. SAVE THE CHILDREN GOLF OPEN: Enthusiastic supporters of Save the Children from Saratoga and Warren Counties will tee up a brighter future for kids at the first-ever Upstate New York Friends of Save the Children Golf Open on Monday, September 17, at The Glens Falls Country Club in Queensbury. RECOVERY ADVOCACY: Recovery Advocacy in Saratoga (RAIS) meets on Thursday, September 20, at 7 p.m. at the Healing Springs Recovery Community and Outreach Center, 125 High Rock Avenue Saratoga Springs. Chad Putman, LMSW, COTI Project Director at the New Choices Recovery Center, will speak about the Center of Treatment Innovation, which seeks to increase access to treatment and recovery supports in underserved communities in Saratoga County. The Project utilizes peer supports, clinical services and emerging technology to support recovery. Refreshments will be provided.

TAYLOR 2: Taylor 2, founded by the late choreographer Paul Taylor, returns to the National Museum of Dance for a site-specific performance in the foyer on Friday, September 21 at 7 p.m. The company will perform four early works choreographed by founder Paul Taylor including Junction, 3 Epitaphs, Tracer, and sections of Aureole. ART IN THE PARK: All are invited to Art in the Park on Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Historic Congress Park, Downtown Saratoga Springs. Art in the Park is a day of fine art in Saratoga Springs’ historic downtown Congress Park, curated and presented by Saratoga Arts. Featuring nearly 80 artists from the greater Saratoga and Capital regions, displaying and selling their original two- and three-dimensional creations and personallydesigned and crafted functional art in a beautiful park setting. Artists will be on hand to discuss their drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, and work in other media. The event is free and open to the public.
