Ballston Spa - Robert F. Smaldone, 72, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018. He was born in Saratoga Springs, NY on October 21, 1945. Bob worked at the Ballston Spa Schools for many years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed Bingo and playing cards. He was an active member of the Ballston Area Seniors. For many years, he worked security at the Saratoga County Fair and Washington County Fair. He was predeceased by his wife Roberta, daughter Kelly, father Robert Smaldone, mother Patricia Decker, foster parents Parmy and Michael Sentiwany, and his brothers Charles Decker and Kelly Decker, Sr. Robert is survived by children Robert Smaldone, Kandee Lane (Mack) and Jessica LaPier (Howard); grandchildren Scott, Dylan, Elektra, Meiah, Gracie, Howard and Damien; sisters Linda Abbt (Bill), Patti Warren, Laurie Franchi, Joan Brown and Kim Kingsley (Dennis); brothers Ralph Smaldone (Pat), Michael Decker (Karen) and Michael Sentiwany (Eileen); and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, October 10 from 5pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will follow at 7pm. A graveside service will be held 10am Thursday, October 11 at the North Milton Cemetery, Route 29, Ballston Spa. Online remembrances may be made at www.armerfuneralhome.com
