Melt N’ Toast to bring flavor to Troy

TROY, N.Y. – Melt N’ Toast, the Capital Region’s grilled cheese festival, is set to return to the Collar City next month.

The second annual Melt N’ Toast event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18, with two sessions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Takk House, located at 55 Third St.

The festival showcases the Capital Region’s culinary and craft beverage landscape, featuring the creativity of local food vendors paired with regional craft beverage producers. Whether it is stacked with classic or artisan ingredient­s, the combinatio­ns are endless, and everyone has their own way of enjoying a grilled cheese sandwich.

Last year at the inaugural festival, nearly 300 attendees cheesed out and Albany business Fresh Greens on the Park won both Judge’s Cheese and People’s Cheese.

For this year’s Melt N’ Toast, 10 vendors are expected to compete the 2018 Judge’s Cheese and People’s Cheese awards. Vendors are expected to be announced in the near future.

A celebratio­n of grilled cheese and craft beverages, tickethold­ers will have the opportunit­y to taste delicious chefs’ choice grilled cheese creations, paired with beverages provided by Nine Pin Cider, Chatham Brewing, and MJM World Imports.

Melt N’ Toast will also feature a photobooth by Snappy Booth and entertainm­ent by DJ Trumastr.

Tickets start at $30 for early bird general admission ($35 after Nov. 2). General admission includes entry into the event, commemorat­e Melt N’ Toast 2018 glass, 10 samples of any grilled cheese sandwich and one beverage ticket. VIP tickets will be $60 per person ($70 after Nov. 2). and includes unlimited samples and open bar, in addition to the general admission amenities.
