FIELD HOCKEY

SARATOGA 6, COLUMBIA 0 - Saratoga’s shut out win came in the Class A quarters Thursday. Kylie Folts scored two goals. Hailey Waghorn, Olivia Vukelic, Lindsey Frank, and Molly Russell all tallied one goal of their own. Columbia goalie Maddy Hogan made 13 saves.

BOYS SOCCER

SHAKER 6, COLUMBIA 0 - Shaker defeated Columbia 6-0 in a first round sectional game at Shaker. Evan Austin scored two goals to help lead the way for Shaker. Hassan Alfadhil scored two of his own. Jack Acquario and Nikhil Metha each scored one goal to round out the offense. Columbia goalkeeper Mclaughlin made 13 saves and Shaker’s Flaherty made two saves.

STILLWATER 5, SCHOHARIE 0 - Grant Baker’s two goal performanc­e powered Stillwater to the sectionals win over Schoarie Thursday. Along with Baker, Jake Zdonick, Scott Travis, and Harry Rubinstein. Schoharie goalkeeper Bailey Smart made nine saves and Tim Buchal made eight.

GIRLS SOCCER

SCHALMONT 15, CORINTH 0 -Schalmont’s offense was generated from everywhere on the pitch Thursday against Corinth. Isabella Amoroso scored a hat trick, Jules Monlea, Ashley Cirilla, Chloe Schaffer, and Sofia Cassano each tallied two goals. Davia Rossi, Payton Graber, Alsion Waldron, and Gianna Viscusi each tallied one goal. Schalmont goalkeeper Kierstin Lynch made one save.

MECHANICVI­LLE 1, ALBANY ACADEMY 0 - Mechanicvi­lle’s Jada Brown scored the lone goal in Mechanicvi­lle’s Class B section win over Albany Thursday. Savannah Bowie made nine saves to power the Red Raiders to the win. Albany’s Andrea Mullen made 12 saves.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

BURNT HILLS 3, BETHLEHEM 0 - BH-BL improves to 13-1 in suburban council play and 16-2 overall. Bethlehem falls to 12-3 in suburban council play and 16-4 overall. Set scores were 2521, 25-18 and 25-18. BH-BL was led by Jake Baker’s 12 kills, one ace and one block. Derek Haughry added 26 assists, three kills, and an ace and a block. Alex Hromada’s seven kills and one ace rounded out BH-BL. Bethlehem was led by Andrew Baker’s 20 assists.

COLONIE 3, SARATOGA 1 - Colonie earned the win over Saratoga Thursday. Set scores were 25-23, 25-22, 1925, and 25-15. Colonie’s Jon Fuller contribute­d 14 kills, three aces, 11 digs, and four blocks. Rob Witzki added nine kills, seven blocks, and Tyler Cotalfamo tallied 32 assists and seven digs.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

VOORHEESVI­LLE 3, COHOES 0 - Voorheesvi­lle swept Cohoes Thursday. Set scores were 25-8, 25-8, and 25-15.

GALWAY WINS WAC TOURNAMENT - Galway won the WAC tournament tonight. They went 2-2 in pool play. They then went on to beat Middleburg­h in the quarterfin­als 2520, 25-18. Next they beat Mayfield in the semis 2521, 16-25, 15-9. Galway saw NDBG in the finals and won 25-20, 22-25, 17-15. Galway was led by Lindsay Zawisa with 38 kills, 30 points, seven aces, 37 digs. Emma Smith had 21 kills and 40 assists, nine blocks and 19 digs. Katy Kurtzner added 40 points and 86 digs. Hannah Hoffman added 50 points and 45 assists
