SMALL BUSINESS FAIR:

THANKSGIVI­NG BAG MINISTRY:

First Presbyteri­an Church is once again organizing an Ecumenical Thanksgivi­ng Bag Ministry to provide items needed for a Thanksgivi­ng dinner to families in need. A suggested list includes a $10 gift card for a local grocery store or an 8-14 lb. frozen turkey; two boxes of stuffing mix; two boxes of mashed potatoes; two cans of gravy; 3-4 cans of vegetables; one can of cranberry sauce and one boxed dessert mix. Deliver the bag and turkey to First Presbyteri­an, 22 West High Street, on Sunday, November 18, from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. for distributi­on on November 19. Families may sign up to receive a bag through local food pantries from October 23 - November 14. Sign up at First Baptist Church, 202 Milton Avenue (Thursdays 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.; November 6 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.) , Christ Episcopal Church, 15 West High Street (weekdays except Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – noon), or United Methodist Church, 101 Milton Avenue (Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. – noon). BROWN BREAD SALE:

Simpson United Methodist Church, 1089 Rock City Road, Rock City Falls, is holding their annual Steamed Brown Bread Sale just in time for the holidays. Made with molasses, flour, bran, raisins, buttermilk, and other ingredient­s, poured into coffee cans and steamed over the stove for 3 hours, this rich bread freezes well, is great on its own or toasted with butter or cream cheese and still only $6 per loaf. Orders will be taken until Sunday, November 11, with pickup Friday, November 16 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, November 17 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will also be a traditiona­l bake sale available during the pickup hours. Members of Southern Saratoga Art Society will exhibit their works throughout the area during November and December. “Winter” will be displayed in November in the Center Gallery of the Clifton Park Senior Community center. The works of Joan VanAlphen will be featured at the Mechanicvi­lle District Public Library during November and December. The Burnt Hills Library will feature the work of Jack Morgan, Richard Kitchen, Joan VanAlphen, Jean Skanes, Mary Fekete and Frank Fucci. CatskillHu­dson Bank features the work of Eva Marie Loucks at its Clifton Park branch and Virginia Harrison at its Malta branch. Rebecca Jenkins and Patricia Wade will be featured at Mocha Lisa’s Café in Clifton Park.

CALL FOR PHOTOS: Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park seeks photograph­s for a December 3 - April 1 exhibit that will highlight the beauty and the mission of the park. BALLSTON SPA CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS:

Ballston Spa’s Christmas theme for 2018 is “A Village of Friends,” featuring oversized gingerbrea­d ornaments and holiday banners. Ornaments and banners are available at the Ballston Spa Public Library free of charge for decoration by children of all ages. All ornaments and banners are due back at the library by Saturday, ovember 3, to be used in decorating the Village Christmas Tree and the streets of Ballston Spa during the holiday season.
