Arrests made in Halloween crackdown

State Police make several arrests during recent DWI checkpoint

CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. >> State Police said they conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Friday night in the Town of Ballston, as part of a statewide “Halloween Crackdown” holiday enforcement period.

Among those arrested and charged were the following:

• Thomas Skelly, 28, of Watervliet, was arrested for DWI. Police say Skelly tested at a .10% blood alcohol concentration.

• Lawton Woodruff, 52, of Saratoga Springs, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers say they found him with a plastic baggie of marijuana.

• Steven Claypool, 43, of Ballston Spa, was arrested for DWI and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers say Claypool tested at a .17% blood alcohol concentration. Troopers also say they found him with capsules of the schedule II stimulant, amphetamine salts.

• John DeLucca, 39, of Ballston Spa, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers say he was found with concentrated cannabis.

• Keenan Shannon, 28, of Ballston Spa, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. State police say Shannon was found with a plastic bag of marijuana.

• William Gardner, 60, of Ballston Lake, was arrested and charged with DWI. Troopers say he tested at a .07% blood alcohol concentration.

• Dillon Sears, 23, of Glenville, for Driving While Intoxicated and for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He tested at a .12% blood alcohol concentration. Sears was found with a wooden smoking pipe, containing marihuana. He will answer his charges on December 13th in the Ballston Town Court.

• Katie Shanahan, 29, of Clifton Park, was arrested and charged with DWI. Troopers say Shanahan tested at a .10% blood alcohol concentration.

• Christopher Pazro, 39, of Rexford, was arrested and charged with DWI. Troopers say Pazro tested at a .09% blood alcohol concentration.

• Jarrell Gatterson, 30, of Altamont, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. State police say Gatterson was found with a plastic bag and a glass smoking pipe, both containing the drug.

• Logan Boulger, 25, of North Bennington, Vermont, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers say he was found with a plastic pill bottle and a glass smoking pipe, both containing marijuana.

• Sean Blanchard, 27, of Broadalbin, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers say Blanchard was found with a plastic baggie and partial cigarettes, both containing the drug.

• Dominic DiTonno, Jr., 28, of Menands, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers say he was found with a plastic baggie of marijuana and a marijuana cigarette.

• Betsy Fernandez, 46, of Hudson Falls was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. State police say Fernandez was found with a plastic baggie of marijuana.

• Damen Towers, 24, of Corinth, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers say he was found with a plastic baggie of marijuana.

Troopers commended those who hired taxi cabs and ride sharing services, such as Uber and Lyft to travel safely after drinking alcohol.

In addition, troopers said they were pleased to meet designated drivers, who volunteered their time to give safe rides to drinkers.
