Saratoga Springs Robert Wayne Marcellus “Bob” passed away on November 10, 2018 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Bob was a US Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. Bob retired after a long career as a logistics specialist in many settings including GE and RPI. Bob loved the outdoors, the Adirondack­s in particular. He was an avid skier, cyclist and hiker. As a scout leader, he shared his passion for the outdoors with his sons. He had the heart of a sailor and enjoyed many years traveling up and down the local waterways. But most of all, Bob was a devoted husband and father whose greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. Bob was predecease­d by his parents Ruth (Irvine) and Ira Marcellus of Scotia, his beloved wife Helen (Graham) Marcellus and their son James Robert. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Dale) Kane, Robert Marcellus, Karen Dake, William (Maureen) Marcellus, and Kimberly (Kenneth) Mark; his grandchild­ren Charlie and Brigid, Zak and Desiree, Ryan and Alexandra, Sam, Michael and Shevawn, Carley and Sean, Andrew, Olivia, Carson; his sister Karen Baumis, his aunt Gertrude Irvine; and many nieces, nephews, friends and his dog Ollie. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 14 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will be held at 12:30pm. Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylervi­lle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208 or your local ASPCA.
