SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> A new type of event this weekend will bring together yoga, tequila, and brunch.

Four Spa City women-owned businesses are collaborating to present a Yoga Tequila Brunch, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday at Putnam Place in downtown Saratoga Springs.

“Yoga and tequila may seem like strange bedfellows but it follows a growing trend of combining exercise with socialization in a setting conducive to making the most of one’s time in a fun and light-hearted way,” a press release from Saratoga Springs-based spirits company One With Life Organic Tequila stated.

First, event-goers will participate in a vinyasa flow yoga class, appropriate for all levels, with a local instructor from the Hot Yoga Spot studio in Saratoga Springs. The Hot Yoga Spot, owned by entrepreneur Jessica Fuller, is a fitness facility with six New York locations, including Saratoga Springs.

Immediately following the yoga class, Saratoga’s 5 Points Market & Deli, a staple of track-goers owned by local Saratogian Maura Pulver, will be donating a pop up healthy light brunch to all attendees.

One With Life Organic Tequila, owned by Saratoga Springs resident Lisa Elovich, will serve complimentary samples of the “Inner Peace Cocktail” at the brunch. One With Life Organic Tequila was recently named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top tequilas to drink. Full tequila drinks and wine will be available at the cash bar as well.

All Yoga Tequila Brunch activities will happen in the recently refurbished Putnam Place. Co-owned by Tiffany Albert, this music venue was formerly known as Putnam Den is now presenting itself as an upscale music lounge and cocktail bar that appeals to professionals of all ages that want to relax, listen to live music and enjoy cocktails.

“I am very excited to be collaborating with other local women business owners. One of the things that makes Saratoga so special is the fact that we support each other,” Elovich said in the release. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Tiffany, Maura and Jessica and the work they do to help the Saratoga community. We rise by lifting others.”

A portion of proceeds from the Yoga Tequila Brunch will benefit Code Blue Saratoga, a program of Shelters of Saratoga that serves as an emergency homeless shelter open from November until April when the temperature dips below 32 degrees or a snowfall of 12 inches or more is predicted.

The cost of the event is $15 per person, which includes the yoga class, brunch, tequila sample and a $5 donation to Code Blue Saratoga.

Spots can be reserved online at https://thehotyogaspot.com/capital-region-special-events. Tickets will also be available at the door.
