Ballston Spa- Regina (Gatta) Barnes, 73, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Regina graduated from Notre Dame- Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady and received a business degree from Mildred Elly. She was employed by the United States Department of Immigration prior to her marriage to Kenneth Barnes in 1965. Together they raised 5 children. She retired from Saratoga County in 2002. Regina was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and a good murder mystery. Her greatest love was her 7 grandchildren who were truly her heart and soul. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth, daughter, Shelly (Bill) Heeney, daughter, Sandra (Edward) Scalo, son, Kenneth (Karen) Barnes, Jr., daughter Stephanie (Kenneth) Mackie, daughter, Suzanne and 7 beloved grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-5 PM on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Inc. Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church on 167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa on Monday November 26, 2018 at 10 AM, with burial to follow in Ballston Spa Village Cemetery.
