QUILT RAFFLE: For more than 25 years the Shenedehowa Senior Quilters have been making fundraising and prizewinning quilts at the Clifton Park Senior Community Center. The winners of the Nature Walk 2018 Quilt Raffle will be drawn on Monday, December 17, at 2 p.m. The 1st prize “Leaf Sampler” quilt has been appraised at $2,775. 2nd prize is a “Woodland Flowers” lap quilt; 3rd prize is an “Autumn Leaves” table runner. Raffle tickets are $2 each and can be purchased at the Clifton Park Senior Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Boulevard, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. You do not need to be present at the drawing to win. Proceeds from the raffle benefit CAPTAIN Youth & Family Services.
SKIDMORE THEATER: Skidmore Theater’s Fall Main Stage production is the world premiere of “We Used to Wear Bonnets & Get High All The Time,” an all-female response to Eugene O’Neill’s classic “Long Day’s Journey Into Night,” written and directed by Julia May Jonas and featuring original music by Brian Cavanagh-Strong.. The play is a multi-disciplinary theatrical exploration of inherited trauma, addiction and intergenerational forces beyond our control, and an inquiry into how families can be institutions. Performances at 8 p.m. on November 16-18 and November 29 – December 2, with 2 p.m. Sunday matinees on November 18 and December 2. General admission $12; students and seniors $8. MITTEN TREE: The Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center’s annual Mitten Tree program encourages individuals, organizations and youth groups to contribute new, store-bought or handmade mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, earmuffs or winter ware to decorate their holiday tree. All donations will benefit multiple Saratoga organizations supporting families in need this winter season. The Visitor Center will accept items through December 31.
