Agresta elected Chamber Chair
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> Ahead of its 101st annual dinner next week, the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce announced that Theresa Agresta has been elected the 2019 Chair of the Board of Directors.
Agresta, owner of Allegory Studios and CultureTalk, will be recognized for this achievement at the dinner, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 24 at the Saratoga Springs City Center.
Nearly 1,000 people are ex- pected to attend this signature event as they seek to generate powerful business connections for the year ahead.
Along with recognizing Agresta, the attendees will honor and thank Brian Straughter, President of Turf Hotels and a co-founder of Jakes Help from Heaven, who served as the Chair of the Chamber’s Board in 2018 and will continue to serve on the Executive Board as the Immediate Past Chair.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors will also present the Joseph Dalton Community Service Award to Tom Roohan of Roohan Realty at the dinner to recognize his more than four decades of volunteer service to the local community.
The Chair Elect for 2019 will be Kevin Hedley of Hedley & Company; and he will become the Chair of the Board in 2020. The 2019 Vice Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors is Skip Carlson of Saratoga Casino Hotel. The 2019 Treasurer and Secretary will be Tara Pleat of Wilcenski & Pleat, LLC.
The members elected by the membership to serve a three year term on the Chamber’s Board of Directors starting January 1, 2019, and running until December 31, 2021, include: Shelly Amato of the Wesley Community; Raj Ghoshal of Polyset; Christianne Potts of DesignSmith Studios; Melissa Johnson of Target Distribution; Chad Kiesow of Stewart’s Shops; Amy Smith of Saratoga Arms Hotel; John Rogan of Saratoga Eagle Sales and Service; and Tara Pleat of Wilcenski & Pleat, LLC.
Two members were appointed to serve a one-year term on the Chamber’s Board of Directors starting in January 1, 2019 as well. They are Valeri Muratori of Saratoga Bridges and Chris Martel of Druthers Brewing Company.
The other members who will continue to serve on the Chamber’s Board of Directors in 2019 includes: David Collins of D.A. Collins; Kevin Soukup of GLOBALFOUNDRIES; Cassie Fox of N. Fox Jewelers; Peter Goutos of CA Smith; John Bove of Bove Fuels; Theresa Skaine of Amanus Consulting; Skip Carlson of Saratoga Casino Hotel; Marianne Barker of Impressions of Saratoga; David Cummings of The Run at Saratoga; David DeMarco of Saratoga National Bank; Dr. Adam Favro of Turning Point Chiropractic; Art Johnson of the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership and the Town of Wilton; Dan Wagner of State Farm Insurance; Charles Wait, Jr. of The Adirondack Trust Company; and Kim Ireland of National Grid.
The 28 volunteer members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors all currently live in Saratoga County and are employed by firms with operations in Saratoga County from Clifton Park, to Halfmoon and Mechanicville; to Malta, Saratoga, Wilton, and Stillwater; as well as Ballston Spa and the City of Saratoga Springs. They represent small and large operations in the retail, manufacturing, finance, hospitality, environmental, accounting, distribution, health care, energy, marketing, legal, insurance, agricultural, government, restaurant, media and construction sectors.
In full, the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce has 2000 members and aims to be a visible and vocal promoter and advocate for its members and all of the communities in Saratoga County.

This is an exciting time to be a part of our Chamber as we launch the Saratoga County Institute for Management and other new initiatives that make membership even more valuable. Plans underway for 2019 will also result in better promotion of county events in collaboration with a range of partners.”
