FOUR CHAPLAINS MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service commemorating the 76th anniversary of the sinking of the USAT Dorchester during World War II takes place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, at The Church at Newtown Road, 142 Lower Newtown Road, Waterford. When the Dorchester was sunk by a German submarine on February 3, 1943, four U.S. Army chaplains on board – two Protestant ministers, a Catholic priest and a Jewish rabbi — gave their lives to save others. Donations will be given to The Chapel of the Four Chaplains foundation, Capital Region Nordic Alliance Inc. and Saratoga County Veterans Trust & Agency Fund.
