Catholic Charities to host summer fundraiser at SPAC next month
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> Catholic Charities of Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties recently announced its upcoming summer fundraiser “An Evening at SPAC” featuring the Philadelphia Orchestra, at 8 p.m. on Aug. 15 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
The evening’s performance is the Marsalis Swing Symphony featuring Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis.
The performance will be preceded by a reception on the South Portico at the Hall of Springs beginning at 6:30 p.m. The cocktail reception will feature an open bar, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres catered by Mazzone Hospitality and a silent auction.
Following the reception, guests will proceed to the amphitheater and enjoy prime seating for the spectacular evening’s performance which begins at 8 p.m.
“We are challenged by the unprecedented needs that human service agencies are experiencing due to a growing increase in requests for services, while funding sources are steadily decreasing,” said Sr. Charla Commins, executive director, in a press release. “We need assistance more than ever to respond to the poor and vulnerable in our communities. We are thrilled to be partnering with SPAC once again this year to provide a wonderful evening at the Orchestra to benefit the growing population of individuals in need of our services.”
Catholic Charities of Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties have been serving the tricounty area through a wide spectrum of counseling and programming efforts since 1975.
In 2018, the agency served more than 5000 tri-county residents regardless of religion, race or economic status. Catholic Charities services are provided by caring, skilled professionals and services benefit youth at risk, victims of domestic violence, families in need of counseling, the terminally ill and countless others.
