FLAG RETIREMENT: Waterford Harbor Farmers Market will be accepting worn, torn flags for their proper disposal on Sunday, July 7, from 9:00 am to 1:00pm. The flags will be delivered to the Saratoga County Veteran’s Agency. Gold Star Mothers cut stars from worn-out U.S. flags, Each star is washed and pressed, then placed in a small bag with a note that reads: “I am part of our American flag that has flown over a home in the U.S.A. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds have caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that you are not forgotten.” These stars are distributed to men and women who have served in the Armed Services. Waterford Harbor Farmers Market is located at One Tugboat Alley and operates each Sunday from the first Sunday in June until Columbus Day weekend from 9:00 to 1:00.

LAWN: Summer is finally here so strike up the band! We welcome the Colonie Town Band at 7pm on Monday July 8th as they perform a free program of popular and classical music, rousing marches and lively show tunes. Bring your own chair or blanket and claim a spot on the lawn in front of the Earl Chapel. Sing along with your favorite tunes. Children (and the young at heart) will have the opportunity to conduct the 60-piece band’s final march. Our popular strawberry shortcake will be available for purchase from the Friends of Oakwood.
