MILTON, N.Y. >> Republican candidates Benny Zlotnick, Barbara Kerr and Ryan Isachsen filed paperwork with the Saratoga County Board of Elections, accepting the Democratic endorsement for Milton Town Supervisor and Council.

The move brings the running mates’ total official party lines on the November ballot to three, having already won the primaries in late June for both the Independence and Conservative Parties.

The Democratic Committee for the Town of Milton caucused on July 11. After reflections by members on all sides of the issue, the committee voted to endorse all three.

“It was a very thoughtful and heartfelt discussion which ultimately came down to who is best to lead Milton forward over the next four years.” said Ellie Dillon, Milton Democratic Chairperson.

When asked why the members picked Zlotnick, Kerr and Isachsen, Dillon replied, “Because the Democratic Committee has a responsibility to support candidates who will fight for our entire community, not just for a chosen few.”

“We are humbled by this major endorsement and excited to work together putting the Milton residents first in order to create a better, stronger community for everyone,” Benny Zlotnick, who is running against Scott Ostrander for Town Supervisor said.

Kerr and Isachsen, who are both running for Town Council, announced last week that they would each be combining their independent ballot line, Moving Milton Forward, with other official party nominated lines.

Kerr will be adding Moving Milton Forward to her Independence Party line and Isachsen will be adding MMF to the Conservative line on the election ballot.

After today’s filing, Zlotnick confirmed he will be adding his Moving Milton Forward line to the newly endorsed Democratic line.

“This is about solidarity between different political parties to ensure everyone has a voice in our town, and no one feels alienated from the process” he added.

“By merging Moving Milton Forward with all three of our endorsed lines, we make sure we are united with one goal in November: restoring town leadership where all residents are heard.”

Early voting will begin in late October with the general election being held on Tuesday Nov. 5, 2019.
