The Cellar a new downtown hotspot

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> Caroline Street has a new downtown hotspot with the opening of The Cellar.

Located just off Broadway at located at 1 Caroline St., The Cellar opened its doors in July, on the same day as the start of the 2019 Saratoga Race Course meet, which brings lots of visitors to downtown Saratoga Springs.

“The Cellar has a strong focus on wines including over 120 different options with an array of different price points that is sure to please any wine lover’s pallet,” said manager Sara Elacqua. “Also offered is a seasonal specialty cocktail menu, an extensive Martini list and for our craft beer enthusiast­s, over 50 different craft and imported bottles and cans.”

Additional­ly, The Cellar features a light fare menu designed to complement and pair well with the wines, beers and cocktails available.

In recent months, prior to the The Cellar’s grand opening, the interior was overhauled and completely renovated.

The space is now meant to be warm and inviting but also sleek and modern, Elacqua said. “It is a great addition to Caroline Street and the great City of Saratoga Springs.”

The owners of this newly renovated space - Elacqua, Joe Parisi, Tara Green and Jason and Rebecca Southwood - have worked together on many projects over the past several years, including

other Caroline Street and Saratoga Springs establishm­ents such as Spa City Tap and Barrel, The Bourbon Room, The Reserve, The Paddock and The Mexican Connection, as well as Benny’s Deli and New York Wine and Liquor Warehouse.

Their latest project, The Cellar presents an array of entertainm­ent such as a Bourbon and Blues night, sing along and dueling piano night, “Saratoga Has Talent” open mic night.

Additional­ly, complement­ary wine and craft beer tastings are held from 5 to 8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night, to give everyone a chance to sample the wines and craft beers featured. These tasting sessions are followed by live music.

Group happy hour parties are offered every Tuesday through Saturday, with half priced wine and appetizers and a private section if booked in advance.

Late night private sections with table service are available for reservatio­ns as well.

The Cellar is open Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 4 p.m.
