At the Post Live with Andy Serling: Join NYRA’s Andy Serling as he talks with NYRA CEO & President Dave O’Rourke, trainers Chad Brown and Dale Romans and NYRA Director of TV Broadcast Operations Eric Donovan during At The Post Live with Andy Serling from The Parting Glass in downtown Saratoga Springs at 8 p.m. The show, which is presented by NYRA Bets, airs on ESPN Radio 104.5 FM “The Team” and features interviews with racing industry newsmakers discussing the Saratoga meet. At the Post Live can also be accessed via the Across the Board with Andy Serling podcast. BANKROLL: $653.60 I must use this space to comment on the antics of two people who have been very nice to me at various points in my racing career. On Wednesday, Laffit Pincay III and Jonathon Kinchen decided to swap wardrobes, leading to Laffit looking like a tourist (albeit one with hair that is somehow always perfect) and Jonathon looking unusually dapper. Big Red Spring in the backyard. NYRA will underwrite adoption fees for animals placed with a new family during the clinic. Only dogs will be available for adoption. Participating animal shelters and rescue groups include: Companion Animal Placement Program; German Shephard Rescue of NY; Greyt Companions; and the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

Southwestern-Style Labor Day BBQ: Fans are invited to enjoy a southwestern-style Labor Day Weekend BBQ while experiencing The Rail at the 1863 Club, the first-floor banquet space I’m going to stay away from the “who wore it better?” discussion that has ensued. To be blunt, nobody can look good in Hawaiian shirts (sorry, guys). Having said that, it was a witty, clever idea that got a chuckle out of a bunch of horse racing fans, many of whom have the same tolerance for humorous fun as the dearlydeparted Grumpy Cat. Well done, gents! WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS: Nic and Zoe got cooked at the all-new 1863 Club. The event, hosted Friday, August 30 through Labor Day, Monday, September 2, is $85 per person. Reservations are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Live music will accompany the tasting from noon to 5 p.m. in the CocaCola Saratoga Pavilion. Guests will enjoy five samples for $5. Must be 21 years or older to participate. on the front end in the seventh, and we dropped another $30. THURSDAY’S PLAY: My action comes late in the card. I sincerely hope #6 CRYSTALLE doesn’t go favored in the ninth race (the P.G. Johnson), as I think she’s the horse to beat. In addition to a $10 win/place bet, I’ll single her in $5 doubles that end with #5 EIGHTY SEVEN NORTH, #9 MOLLY’S NIGHTHAWK, #12 GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY, and #13 IDEATIONAL. TOTAL WAGERED: $40
