Saratoga Bridges has been celebratin­g Direct Support Profession­als (DSP’s) week Sept. 8-14, along with thousands of other agencies nationwide, in recognitio­n of their dedicated employees who give continuous creativity, energy and passion to their positions while providing the highest level of quality services and programs.

Their valuable, faithful, committed, conscienti­ous and appreciate­d DSPs ensure individual­s with disabiliti­es have more meaningful, productive, independen­t lives by promoting their abilities and achievemen­ts. They support individual­s’ hopes and dreams as they work, volunteer and socialize throughout our community.

Truly their philosophy is that every day is full of possibilit­ies!

Paige Hall is one of their 2019 Employees of the Year and an excellent example of a DSP who brings humor, wisdom, common sense and novel approaches to her position. As a result, she is wellloved as she certainly enriches and enhances their opportunit­ies to succeeds in the community.

1: Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you worked at Saratoga Bridges and what was your career path to the agency?

“My name is Paige Hall. I am a mother of a handsome 2-yearold. I have worked for Saratoga Bridges coming up on 2 years. Previous to working at Sara

toga Bridges, I ran a bakery for 5 years and was a stay at home mom for 2 years. I heard about Saratoga Bridges, and jumped at the opportunit­y to start a career supporting 15 wonderful individual­s I have in the ACE Program.”

2. What do I do at Saratoga Bridges?

“I work in a Day Program called ACE which stands for Achievemen­t Careers Enhancemen­ts. We volunteer at local food pantries, Adopt a Soldier and many others. I had also started a hiking group to Promote a Healthier ACE.”

3. What gives me inspiratio­n?

“What inspires me to continue my career is watching the people we support progress every day. They have become my second family and I love to see them achieve their goals and grow. The smile on their faces make every day a great day!”

4. What do you think is the message and purpose of Direct Support Profession­als Week?

“I believe the purpose for this week is to recognize all the amazing opoportuni­ries my co-workers do each and every day that goes unrecogniz­ed in the community. Most of them go far above and beyond their work requiremen­ts. We all are teachers, a helping hand and much, much more. This week gives the staff recognitio­n where it needs to be celebrated.”

5. What is your life like outside of work?

“My life outside of work consist of spending quality time with my family and friends. I also help out at a family-owned bakery on Saturday’s when we go to a Farmers Markets and I love to be outdoors.”
