Wellspring Pooch Parade scheduled
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> On Sept. 28, Wellspring’s Safe Pet Partnership Program will hold its annual Pooch Parade in Congress Park in Saratoga Springs.
The family friendly event starts with registration and activities at 10 a.m., followed by a walk that will begin rain or shine at 11 a.m. At 11:45 raffle winners will be announced.
Many times victims of domestic violence will not leave an abusive relationship out of fear for what might happen to their pet. This event helps to raise awareness and funds victims to assist victims of domestic violence by providing safe, temporary placement of family pets through a network of volunteer foster families.
These volunteer families provide pets with a loving home while their client owners move to safety. Once that is achieved, clients and their pets are reunited.
Featured activities include pawdicures (nail clippings), an agility course, pet vendors, free giveaways, a raffle, and more followed by the parade with your dog and the community around Congress Park.
Entrance is $10 for pooches; people are free. For more information about the event and to purchase tickets: https:// www.eventbrite.com/e/wellspring-pooch-parade-tickets-69179944075
