UCF to build lazy river next to football stadium
ORLANDO, FLA. (AP) >> The University of Central Florida is taking tailgating to another level for the 2020 football season with plans for a lazy river outside the stadium.
UCF announced this month that they’ll be offering 250 McNamara Cove memberships for $2,500 each. The all-inclusive package covers “covegating” for all regular-season home games.
McNamara Cove will be located right next to Spectrum Stadium. Opening several hours before kickoff, guests will have access to the lazy river, a pool, sand volleyball courts, lounge chairs, a bocce ball green and a service cabana.
Outside of game days, McNamara Cove will provide studentathletes with a leisure and recovery space as part of the $30 million Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village. NEW YORK (AP) >> Toronto pitcher Luis Quinones has been suspended for the first 80 games of next season, and San Diego pitcher Elias Batista, New York Mets catcher Jan Carlos Osorio and Atlanta catcher Jose Camacaro for 72 games each under baseball’s minor league drug program.
All four tested positive for performance-enhancing substances, the commissioner’s office said Friday: Quinones for Nandrolone, Camacaro for Boldenone, and Batista and Osorio for Stanozolol.
Quinones, a 22-year-old righthander selected on the 34th round of this year’s amateur draft, was 2-2 with a 2.95 ERA in four starts and eight relief appearances for Bluefield of the Appalachian League and Vancouver of the Northwest League.
Batista, a 20-year-old righthander, was 1-2 with an 8.77 ERA in 15 relief appearances in the Dominican Summer League.
