TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL: The 24th annual Touched by an Angel fundraising event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, 6-9 p.m., at Canfield Casino, located in Congress Park in Saratoga Springs. The evening will feature a wide variety of food tastings provided by 18 local restaurants. Guests will be able to sample elegant, savory and sweet food stations, along with appetizers and desserts. Guests will also enjoy complimentary wine, beer, Saratoga Water, and a signature drink. There will be several great raffles. Saratoga Photobooth will be on hand. Music will be provided by Shades of Grey. About 400 guests are expected. Tickets are $80. Proceeds will benefit hospice programs and services in Saratoga and Washington counties, including complementary services, such as music and massage therapy; and the Hospice Wish Fund which grants wishes for patients and families. TRIVIA NIGHT FUNDRAISER: The Friends of the New York State Military Museum and Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge #161 invite you to the sixth annual Trivia Night Fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 5 - 9:30 p.m. at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge, located at 1 Elks Ln., Saratoga Springs. THEATER AUDITIONS: Home Made Theater, Saratoga’s resident theater company, announces open auditions for their December production of It’s a Wonderful Life, by James W. Rodgers, based on the film by Frank Capra and the story by Philip Van Doren Stern. It’s a Wonderful Life will be directed by Laurie Larson. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, October 15th and Wednesday, October 16th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Spa Little Theater in Saratoga Spa State Park. There are roles available for both adults and children. Auditions are open to all ethnicities and gender identifications. Production dates are weekends, December 13th through 22nd, with three weekday student matinees on December 12th, 17th, & 19th at 10:00am. Rehearsals will begin in late October. Actors should bring a current photo and a resume. Photos cannot be returned. No appointments are necessary to audition. Actors will read from provided excerpts from the play. SARATOGA VETERANS CHORUS: The Saratoga Veterans Chorus welcomes both male and female veterans, active duty, reserve and guard service members to enjoy the camaraderie of a cappella singing in a relaxed environment. There are no auditions or public singing required, although there will be opportunities for community performances for those interested. Instruction by a professional choral director.
