Mohawk Honda acquires Northstar Chevrolet
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. >> Mohawk Honda has taken ownership of Northstar Chevrolet in Clifton Park.
The transfer of ownership took place on Monday.
Officials Jeff Haraden, president of Mohawk Honda, and general manager Andy Guelcher annouced on Wednesday that the dealership will be rebranded as Mohawk Chevrolet after an extensive refurbishment to the existing facility.
The dealership will remain open during the renovations and existing staff will be retained.
Mohawk Chevrolet will continue selling new Chevrolet cars, SUVs and trucks along with selling used cars and servicing all makes and models.
“For many of our 100 years and up until 1980, we operated as a Chevy dealership,” Haraden, a third generation owner, said in the press release. “Chevy has continued to produce amazing cars and we cannot wait to bring Mohawk Honda’s level of customer service to this new brand.”
Guelcher added, “We are very much looking forward to expanding our award-winning customer service to the Chevy brand. This will also give our existing Saratoga County customers another option for service appointments.”
Reconditioning of the facility is expected to be completed in 2020.
Headquartered in Glenville, Mohawk Honda is a full-service dealer offering sales, service, parts, accessories and collision repair.
Originally opened in 1919, Mohawk Honda is celebrating its 100th anniversary as a family-owned car dealership.
