Saratoga Center for the Family appoints new board members, executive committee

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Saratoga Center for the Family announced three community members to its Board of Directors and its new slate of board officers.

“We are delighted to welcome David Fragomeni, Greg Grieco and Lorrie Shilling to our Board,” states Rebecca Baldwin, Executive Director of Saratoga Center for the Family. “Each new member is extremely committed to our mission and we look forward to all that they have to bring to the critically important work of the Center.”

David Fragomeni, President of Fragomeni Insurance & Financial Services, is a resident of Saratoga Springs. A Certified Financial Planner and Certified Insurance Counselor, Fragomeni joined the board because he wanted to volunteer at a local organizati­on where he can make a meaningful impact; he believes the Center is the right choice as its mission aligns with his values. Fragomeni earned his B.S. In Business Administra­tion at Lemoyne College.

Greg Grieco, also a resident of Saratoga Springs, is the CFO at Stein Fibers Ltd. in Albany. Greico stated he joined the board, “to support an organizati­on that provides a necessary service, light when there is darkness, especially when it pertains to children. I am honored to serve.”

The father of two children, Isabella, a sophomore at SUNY Binghamton and Quentin, a senior at Saratoga Springs High School, Greico enjoys hiking in the Adirondack­s, attending concerts and discoverin­g new music, learning guitar, and waterskiin­g. Grieco earned his B.S. in Accounting, CPA, at the University of Vermont.

Lorrie Shilling is the Director of Marketing at The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs. She brings much knowledge to the board with her experience working in the not for profit sector of health care and aging services industries.

Shilling is skilled in marketing strategy, media relations, digital marketing, and communicat­ions. Shilling is a graduate of the Leadership Saratoga Class of 2015 and is currently a member of The Wesley Foundation events committee and the Mayor’s Senior Advisory Committee, and has volunteere­d in various capacities.

“I’m honored to be a part of Saratoga Center for the Family’s Board of Directors and support the necessary and vital services they provide to children, families, and the community. I believe strongly in the importance of building a support system for our children and families so they will benefit in their time of need and gain the strength and experience that will help them well into their future,” says Shilling.

The Center also announced Douglas Gerhardt as the new Board President. Gerhardt, a resident of Saratoga Springs and a Saratoga Center for the Family board member since 2013, has been appointed as Board President effective January 1 of this year. A partner at Harris Beach, PLLC, Gerhardt oversees the firm’s labor and education practice in the eastern part of New York.

On why Gerhardt serves on the board, he states, “It means giving back to the community where I live and work. The Center is dedicated to the most important aspect of life, ensuring families and children have a caring, safe and meaningful home life. I am very lucky to have been able to provide that for my sons and family and I am dedicated to the Center to ensure it can assist others in our community to enjoy the same.”

Gerhardt and his wife, Joan, have two sons. In his free time, he enjoys doing anything outdoors and athletic. He has run 11 marathons, countless half marathons, and summited some of the highest peaks in the world. Gerhardt earned his B.A. in Economics and Political Science at University of Rochester and his J.D. at Albany Law School.

Saratoga Center for the Family’s 2020 Executive Slate of Officers include Vice President John Brooks (Wilton), Secretary Jennifer Jeram (Clifton Park), Treasurer Katherine Smith (Gansevoort), and Past President David Shacket (Saratoga Springs). Rounding out the rest of the Board is Ellen Brodie (Wilton), Colleen Hamel (Gansevoort), Timothy Hoefer (Clifton Park), Erinn Kolligian (Wilton), Dr. Michael Patton (Saratoga Springs), Mike Venerus (Malta), Terry White (Saratoga Springs), Carrie Woerner (Round Lake), Ann Wolpert (Saratoga Springs), and Executive Director Rebecca Baldwin. ••• About the Saratoga Center for the Family
