FARMERS & FRIENDS SOCIAL: POSTPONED -Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County in partnership with Saratoga PLAN, are hosting the Farmers and Friends Social on Tuesday March 24th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the legendary Cock’n Bull Restaurant in Galway, NY. The event is free, with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a lite dinner served. There will be drinks available for purchase. In years past, the social has been exclusively for farmers; however, the farming community extends so much further than the farmers themselves, inviting “friends of farmers” was organic. This year, the hope is to provide the agriculture community the opportunity to mingle, network, and enjoy themselves... while eating the delicious farm-to-table food from the Cock’n Bull. Participants are encouraged to “wear their logos” in an effort to facilitate easy collaborations. Kevin Bowman, of Bowman Orchards, and Chuck Curtis, of Willow Marsh Farms, will be sharing unique and innovative techniques they’re using to stay current in this ever evolving market. Ultimately, the goal of this social is to bring people together, as a community; working to make a living doing what is loved. This event is made possible by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County with Saratoga PLAN, supported by H&M Equipment Company and the Cock’n Bull. SOCIAL NIGHT: The Knights of Columbus of St. Edward’s Church in Clifton Park will hold their next Social Night on Tuesday March 24 at 7:30 pm with the topic Stained-Glass Windows. Fr. Pat Butler pastor will explain the origin and meaning of the many stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the bible that adorn the walls of the new church. Coffee and cookies will be served. St. Edward’s Church is located at 569 Clifton Park Center Rd. in Clifton Park, NY 12065. This meeting is open to the public without charge. AFTER THE FIRE’S MONTHLY MEETING: After the Fire’s monthly meeting will be Tuesday, March 24 th at 7 PM at Eagle Matt Lee Firehouse on Washington St. in Ballston Spa. After the Fire is a non-profit organization that helps Saratoga County Residents who have suffered a loss due to fire. Families are provided with gift cards, a night’s stay at a participating hotel/motel, Red Cross referral, informational material, emotional support. etc. Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7PM as follows: Feb., March, Oct., & Nov. at Eagle Matt Lee Firehouse on Washington St. in Ballston Spa; April, May, June & Sept. at Halfmoon Town Hall on Lower Newtown Rd. in Halfmoon.
