Saturday, March 21 HERITAGE HUNTERS: CANCELED - Heritage Hunters of Saratoga County will meet on Saturday, March 21st, at 1 pm at the Town of Saratoga Town Hall, corner of Rt. 4 and Rt. 29 in Schuylervi­lle. Chris Martin, Chief of Natural and Cultural Resources for the Saratoga National Historic Park, will discuss an archaeolog­ical dig that took place in May 2019. Led by William Griswold, the work was carried out by 33 veterans who came from all over the country. It focused on a short battle in 1777 that changed the course of the Revolution­ary War when 12,000 American soldiers surprised 1700 hungry British and German men. The goal of the dig was to help determine where in the old wheat field the different troops fought. Used was aerial survey, metal detecting, digging, and ground penetratin­g radar. Public is welcome. PRE-LICENSING CLASS: The next NYS 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Class will be offered March 21st from 9am to 2pm at the United Methodist Church, 175 5th Avenue, Saratoga Springs. The cost for the class is $40.00. A portion of the class cost is donated to the United Methodist Church.

BROOKS BBQ AND ANNUAL SPRING AUCTION: Stillwater United Church is holding a Brooks’ Chicken BBQ dinner on Saturday, March 21st from 4:00-6:30, until “sold out” in Stillwater United’s Fellowship Hall at 747 Hudson Ave. across from Post office. Parking behind church. BBQ tickets $14. Menu includes half-chicken, potato, coleslaw, roll, cake and beverage. Eat in or take-out. The Annual Spring Auction will be held at the same time. CORNED BEEF DINNER: CANCELED - The Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church on 125 5th Avenue will be hosting a Corned Beef dinner complete with homemade pies on Saturday, March 21st from 4:30 - 6:00pm. Cost: free will donation.

REPAIR CAFE: CANCELED - Join us Saturday, March 21 from 12-3 pm in the H. Dutcher Community Room of the Saratoga Springs Public Library. Sustainabl­e Saratoga and the Saratoga Springs Public Library are hosting another Repair Café. Repair Café is a free community event with the goals of repairing broken objects to extend their life, keeping things out of landfills, and fostering an appreciati­on for the art of repairing things. Volunteer repair coaches will be available to help you repair your broken items free of charge. The coaches provide the tools and we supply basic materials to repair common items. People visiting the Repair Café will bring along their broken items from home. Lamps, clocks, hair dryers, clothes & textile (repairs & minor alteration­s), dolls, small kitchen appliances, jewelry, wooden toys & small furniture...most things are welcome and can more than likely be repaired with the help of a knowledgea­ble Repair Café coach. We cannot guarantee we can fix everything, but we are pretty sure you will have a good time! Bring what you can carry (limit of 2 items), and let a repair coach help you fix it. Please note: you are encouraged to actively participat­e in fixing your item and you must remain present during the repairs. FAMILY SATURDAY: The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College presents its Spring 2020 Family Saturdays, a series of multigener­ational creative collaborat­ions on each Saturday from February 15 through April 4. Each program includes looking at artwork in the museum’s exhibition­s or collection­s, discussing and sharing ideas, and engaging in a hands-on art activity inspired by those conversati­ons. The programs, which are free, mostly run from 1:00 to 2:30 PM, unless otherwise specified, and are suitable for children ages five and older, accompanie­d by their adult companions. Both artists address the idea of space and its potential for a wide variety of experience­s. After discussing their installati­ons, we will create a space that we would like to see and experience in a museum. The Tang offers extra sessions starting at 3:00 PM just for tweens on two March 21. INDOOR CRAFT & GARAGE SALE: CANCELED -The popular Elks Ladies Auxiliary Indoor Craft and Garage Sale will be held from 11-3 p.m. at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Club on Elks Lane. Monday, March 23 WELLNESS WALK: On Monday, March 23rd at 11:00am Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park will be holding a Wellness Walk led by Linda Hovi-

ous, fitness instructor at the Saratoga Springs YMCA. This is a great opportunit­y to enjoy a winter walk on the trails at Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park! The Wellness Walk is geared towards gentle exercise and the enjoyment of nature and will be accessible for participan­ts at basic fitness levels. The walk will depart from the Camp Saratoga North Trailhead kiosk. Registrati­on is appreciate­d as the program could be cancelled if there is bad weather. If needed, snowshoes will be available for rental 30 minutes before the program; free for members, $3 for non-members. If there is no snow, the program will take place without snowshoes. The Wellness Walks are a bi- monthly activity with the next walk scheduled for April 6th at the Old Gick Farm trailhead located on route 50. FARMERS & FRIENDS SOCIAL: POSTPONED -Cornell Cooperativ­e Extension of Saratoga County in partnershi­p with Saratoga PLAN, are hosting the Farmers and Friends Social on Tuesday March 24th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the legendary Cock’n Bull Restaurant in Galway, NY. The event is free, with compliment­ary hors d’oeuvres and a lite dinner served. There will be drinks available for purchase. In years past, the social has been exclusivel­y for farmers; however, the farming community extends so much further than the farmers themselves, inviting “friends of farmers” was organic. This year, the hope is to provide the agricultur­e community the opportunit­y to mingle, network, and enjoy themselves... while eating the delicious farm-to-table food from the Cock’n Bull. Participan­ts are encouraged to “wear their logos” in an effort to facilitate easy collaborat­ions. Kevin Bowman, of Bowman Orchards, and Chuck Curtis, of Willow Marsh Farms, will be sharing unique and innovative techniques they’re using to stay current in this ever evolving market. WOODWORKER­S SHOWCASE: CANCELED - The Northeast Woodworker­s Associatio­n has cancelled it’s annual Woodworker­s Showcase presentati­on which was to be held on March 28 & 29 at the Saratoga Springs City Center, as a result of the directive from the Governors office prohibitin­g gathering of more than 500 people at an event. The Totally Turning Symposium, a part of Showcase, has also been cancelled. The Woodworker­s Showcase will not be able to be reschedule­d for 2020, however, the show will be scheduled again for late March in 2021. For further informatio­n, go to www.woodworker.org. MALTA FLEA MARKET: After two successful outdoor seasons at the Malta Drivein, the Malta Flea Market will move indoors for the winter. BENEFIT CONCERT: On Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 7:00 pm, musicians of the Saratoga Youth Symphony, Saratoga Preparator­y Symphony and Skidmore College, are having a collaborat­ive concert to benefit the Franklin Community Center. The concert will be held at the Presbyteri­an-New England Congregati­onal Church, 24 Circular Street in Saratoga Springs. Cost: $ 10 per person however children 10 years and under, admission is free.

WOODWORKER­S SHOWCASE: CANCELED - The Northeast Woodworker­s Associatio­n has cancelled it’s annual Woodworker­s Showcase presentati­on which was to be held on March 28 & 29 at the Saratoga Springs City Center, as a result of the directive from the Governors office prohibitin­g gathering of more than 500 people at an event. The Totally Turning Symposium, a part of Showcase, has also been cancelled. FAMILY SATURDAY: The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College presents its Spring 2020 Family Saturdays, a series of multigener­ational creative collaborat­ions on each Saturday from February 15 through April 4. Each program includes looking at artwork in

the museum’s exhibition­s or collection­s, discussing and sharing ideas, and engaging in a hands-on art activity inspired by those conversati­ons. The programs, which are free, mostly run from 1:00 to 2:30 PM, unless otherwise specified, and are suitable for children ages five and older, accompanie­d by their adult companions. There will be a brief performanc­e by the chorus of patriotic numbers followed by refreshmen­ts.
