VIRTUAL DANCE CLASS: Tango Fusion Dance Company is offering free online dance classes on Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 6:30 p.m. on the Tango Fusion Facebook page. Tuesday classes will include beginner salsa, intermediate salsa and intermediate West Coast swing. Each week’s class will review lessons from the week before and then add more. The classes are designed for people with an at-home dance partner or to dance solo. No partner or experience is necessary to participate. FARMERS & FRIENDS SOCIAL: POSTPONED -Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County in partnership with Saratoga PLAN, are hosting the Farmers and Friends Social on Tuesday March 24th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the legendary Cock’n Bull Restaurant in Galway, NY. The event is free, with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a lite dinner served. There will be drinks available for purchase. In years past, the social has been exclusively for farmers; however, the farming community extends so much further than the farmers themselves, inviting “friends of farmers” was organic. This year, the hope is to provide the agriculture community the opportunity to mingle, network, and enjoy themselves... while eating the delicious farm-to-table food from the Cock’n Bull. Participants are encouraged to “wear their logos” in an effort to facilitate easy collaborations. Kevin Bowman, of Bowman Orchards, and Chuck Curtis, of Willow Marsh Farms, will be sharing unique and innovative techniques they’re using to stay current in this ever evolving market. Ultimately, the goal of this social is to bring people together, as a community; working to make a living doing what is loved. CAPITAL DISTRICT GARDEN & FLOWER SHOW: CANCELED - The 33rd Annual Capital District Garden & Flower Show schedule for March 27 through March 29th at Hudson Valley Community College has been canceled. Pennie Gonzalez, event manager wrote “It is with great sadness that we are canceling the 2020 Capital District Garden & Flower Show after receiving notification that NYS has placed an indefinite ban on large gatherings. This was not an easy decision, nor one taken lightly. At this time of crisis, it is most important to keep our sponsors, vendors, supporters and visiting families safe.” The Capital District Garden & Flower Show will be back March 26-28, 2021 to continue the most anticipated springtime tradition in New York’s Capital Region. FISH FRY: CANCELED Ballston Spa Elks Lodge will be hosting their Annual Friday Fish Fry February 28, 2020 till April 3, 2020 5pm to 730pm. SARATOGA VETERANS CHORUS OPEN HOUSE: The Saratoga Veterans Chorus invites all veterans, active duty, Guard and Reserve service members to learn more about chorus activities at their open house to be held Monday, March 30, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 70, 34 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs. There will be a brief performance by the chorus of patriotic numbers followed by refreshments. Founded in 2018, the chorus introduces veterans to the joy and camaraderie of a cappella singing in a relaxed, informal environment. Under the direction of retired music educator Penny Schiek, the chorus welcomes both male and female voice parts.
