Mechanicville Community Services Center issues operational updates

- By Saratogian staff

MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. » The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center, Inc. (MACSC) issued extensive operational updates to keep the community it serves current on the status of the many services it provides during the COVID-19 pandemic interim, and the resultant school and business closures in Mechanicville and the surrounding areas.

MACSC Executive Director Megan Quillinan recently issued the following statement:

“As we continue to update operations here at MACSC want to keep you informed; these updates are current as of March 27, at 3:15 p.m., and are subject to change without notice.

“For the week ending March 27, we supplied 447 people in 140 households with food assistance. Last week, ending 3/20/20, we saw 175 people needing food, so it is noteworthy that the demand has more than doubled in one week.

“Our staff is amazing; they’re working hard to be feeding whoever needs it and able to answer phones for questions, and to offer resources and support from 9-5 p.m. each day. All calls are forwarded to staff remotely. We will get back to you.

“We are all in this together, thank you for your support and cooperation. Don’t hesitate to reach out by phone. If you have any questions, call me, Megan Quillinan at 518-302-7028 or email me at mquillinan@mechanicvilleacsc.org.

“We are all in this together, thank you for your support and cooperation. Take care of one another; it takes a community.”
