GALA TO GO: The Children’s Museum at Saratoga is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a Gala to Go. The event, scheduled for Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3, will feature takeout gourmet food crafted by Prime at Saratoga National, available for pickup at the restaurant, as well as an online auction and online raffle. The museum has served the Capital Region for 30 years, and now during these trying times looks to the community for continued support. Participants can sign up for the Gala to Go, or make a donation, online at cmssny.org/2020-annualgala. RSVPs are due by Friday, March 27. VIRTUAL ART ADVENTURES: This program, held at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays in April, is best suited for children ages 2 & up. During this virtual program conducted on Facebook and Instagram, we will discover and create art using different mediums and techniques. Follow along as we create something new each week! It is returning to Saratoga after many years. It draws authors and storytellers from across the country.
CHOWDER DINNER: POSTPONED - The Annual Clam Chowder Dinner at St Luke’s on the Hill, 40 McBride Road, Mechanicville will take place on Friday April 3, 2020 from 4:30-6:30 PM. Homemade New England Clam, Manhattan Clam or Corn Chowder are offered. Eat in dinner menu will include your choice of Chowder, bread and butter, dessert and a drink all for $7. FISH FRY FRIDAY: CANCELED - Fish Creek Rod and Gun Club at 121 NY-32 in Victory Mills will start Fish Fry Friday, on Friday January 10, 2020, at 4:30 - 7:00PM , and will continue every Friday through April 10, 2020. SCOTTIES STAMPEDE:
POSTPONED - The 5th Annual Scotties Stampede 5k Fun Run/Walk, planned for Saturday, April 4, 2020, has been postponed. The Ballston Spa Central School District looks forward to rescheduling this fun, family friendly event as soon as possible. The district’s Wellness Expo, planned for the same day, has been cancelled but will be back bigger and better in 2021. KIDS DAY: CANCELED - On Saturday, April 4, from 9 am – 12 pm, kids are invited to Peebles Island State Park for the 3rd annual Kid’s Day celebration. Besides short, guided nature walks around the Island, the Visitor Center will be buzzing with activities. Some of these activities include crafts, stamping and a story in our reading center. Kids will be invited to explore animal pelts and skins and to pick up a “Peebles Passport” that they will get stamped as they complete activities. Children must bring their adults. Questions? FAMILY SATURDAY: CANCELED - The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College has canceled its Spring 2020 Family Saturdays, a series of multigenerational creative collaborations on each Saturday from February 15 through April 4. The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College has been monitoring the fast-changing situation surrounding COVID-19. Out of concern for the health and safety of the community, the museum is closed to the public for the foreseeable future. All events and programs are currently canceled. FUNDRAISER: The Town of Wilton (NY) Democratic Committee is holding its 2nd annual Spring Social on Sunday, April 5, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. at McGregor Links Country Club (359 Northern Pines Road, Wilton). It’s an opportunity for Wilton residents to mingle and hear about issues of concern in government and the electoral process. Assistant Professor Christopher Mann from Skidmore College’s Political Science department will give a brief presentation on “How Early Voting Changes Campaigns and Elections: Lessons from Other States.” Appetizers will be served and a cash bar available.
