BIKE TO FISH DAY: May 22nd; 11-2 pm, Bike to Fish Day @ Palette Cafe & Impression­s of Saratoga. Unpreceden­ted times warrant unpreceden­ted events. Bike-to-work day will have to wait (since many of us aren’t working). But, we can still enjoy a casual bike ride to downtown and a chance at catching some great prizes from local businesses. Bike over to Palette Cafe or Impression­s of Saratoga from 11 am. to 2 pm this Friday and bring your fishing pole. Yup, you got that right. There will be a well stocked prize pond at both Impression­s of Saratoga and Palette Cafe where you will be able to maintain safe and responsibl­e fishing distance, fresh air and more. Free drip coffee at Palette Cafe for riders & a free chocolate bar at Impression­s of Saratoga with your Bicycle Benefits sticker. OAKWOOD CEMETERY MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES: Oakwood Cemetery will broadcast several live Memorial Day activities on its Facebook page to continue its long tradition of honoring members of the military. These events are not open to the public and invited attendees will follow strict Covid-19 protocols as identified by New York State and the Centers for Disease Control. Saturday, May 23 at 9 a.m. 9:00 am: Wreath-laying at Oakwood’s Veterans Memorial Circle, with representa­tion from each military branch. 9:15 am: Flags will be laid on the 250+ graves in Oakwood Cemetery’s Soldiers Plot. FISH FRY FUNDRAISER: The next Saratoga Knights of Columbus #246 event will be held on Friday, May 29th and will be a Takeout Fish Fry Fundraiser. Please note that there will be no Takeout Dinners being offered on Friday, May 22nd. Call-in hours to 518-584-8547 will be on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00-3:00, and pick-ups will begin at 4:30. If you would prefer to have your meal delivered to your car, you can call from the parking lot upon arrival, give a descriptio­n of your car, and ask that it be brought out to you, though you are also welcome to come inside for pick-up. Just look for the pink sign on the front door indicating where to enter. Available will be Fried or Baked Haddock or Fried Clam Strips, each with French Fries, Cole Slaw, Tartar Sauce, and Cocktail Sauce, for $12.00, or the Shrimp Salad Special, which comes with two toasted rolls with Shrimp Salad, French Fries, and Cole Slaw, for $10.00.
