Valedictorian, salutatorian announced
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. » Ballston Spa High School Principal Gianleo Duca recently announced Caitlin Doyle as Valedictorian and Alexandra Nicolaus as Salutatorian for the Ballston Spa High School Class of 2020.
Doyle has excelled in a very rigorous course load and will receive a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors with Mastery in Mathematics and Science. While advancing herself as a well-rounded student, she has earned an honorable cumulative GPA of 99.6. Caitlin will be pursuing a major in the field of biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Doyle’s accomplishments include serving as co-captain for the 2017 National Science Bowl Team, being a member of both National Honor Society and TriM Music Honor Society, earning first chair for the viola, participating in two NYSSMA Majors Gold Orchestras as well as both Suburban Council and Area All-State, accomplishing a Level 6 NYSSMA solo, performing in numerous All-County Festivals, having two original pieces of writing selected for Young Writers USA publications, and being awarded the Young Writers Creativity
Award two years in a row.
Nicolaus has excelled in a rigorous course load and will receive a Regent’s Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors with Mastery in Mathematics and Science. Her cumulative GPA is an outstanding 99.3. Nicolaus is a well-rounded individual who will be pursuing a degree in the field of Pre-Med at Union College.
Nicolaus is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, President of Science Olympiad, Vice President of Physics Club, and Junior Board President of Buddy Blankets & Bears. She was also selected as a
Junior Sergeant of Arms on Executive Board and is a class of 2020 delegate.
Additionally, she has been a passionate dancer since the age of three and has had the opportunity to perform at the New York City Ballet Gala, New York State Summer School of the Arts Summer Intensive, and lead roles in the Nutcracker.
