Saratoga County COVID-19 recovered cases at 407

-

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. » Recoveries from Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) climbed to 407 on Friday — an increase of three from the previous day.

The Saratoga Department of Health Services confirmed 472 total positive cases, up five in the past 24 hours, with active cases at 51, an increase of two. Of the positive cases, the number of those individuals hospitalized remained at six, with the number of fatalities remaining at 15.

There are currently 280 individuals in isolation or quarantine, with a total of 2,388 since the pandemic began. In addition, 10,818 tests have been administered to county residents. Officials note the number of deaths, recovered cases and active cases, when added together, do not equal the total number of confirmed cases because one of the previously reported deaths happened out of the state, but was never counted as a confirmed case within the county.

Clifton Park has 103 positive cases, with Halfmoon next at 71. Saratoga Springs follows with 51,

Wilton has 36, followed by Moreau at 31 and Malta at 30. Mechanicville and Milton are next with 19 positive cases. Ballston and Northumberland have 14 each.

Greenfield has 12 confirmed cases, with the town of Corinth, Stillwater and the town of Waterford having 10 each. Galway, Ballston Spa and South Glens Falls have seven each, followed by town of Saratoga (5), Schuylerville (5), Round Lake (3), Charlton (2), Providence (2), village of Waterford (2), Hadley (1) and village of Corinth (1).

As the Capital Region moves closer to Phase 2 of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s reopening plan, officials continue to caution to proceed with caution. They recommend the following elements to continue be part of any reopening strategy:

• All large gathering limitations should be maintained as far as possible into the latter part of the year to avoid superspreader events and to provide time to evaluate appropriate density limitations to reduce the risk of disease.

• Social distancing and disinfection must continue to be practiced on an ongoing basis. Businesses should share their creative solutions and best practices that they employ to protect their employees, customers and the public.

• Saratoga County Public Health will continue, and expand as necessary, contact tracing and targeted isolation and quarantine efforts to minimize the spread.

• All reopening activities should be coordinated between local, state and regional governments, while still retaining the local health infrastructure and authority need to respond quickly to locally emerging public health threats.
